When you think of Kate Middleton’s classic, timeless wardrobe, you probably wouldn’t imagine there’d be a great deal of cross over when it came to festival season. But whilst we can’t exactly imagine the Princess of Wales up to her knees in mud at Glastonbury, there’s one element of her wardrobe that’s quickly becoming a celeb favourite – and they’re perfect for your next festival.
Princess Kate has been spotted wearing her favourite Le Chameau Vierzon Jersey Lined Wellies on countless occasions over the years, and they’re rapidly becoming the go-to for stars. Alexa Chung most recently wore a pair for her countryside adventure in Scotland, whilst supermodel Kate Moss has previously worn them for a frosty dog walk.

While Princess Kate typically pairs hers with denim and a waxed jacket, Alexa wore her Vierzon Wellies with everything from a swimsuit to wide leg cargo trousers, proving they’re not just a winter staple. Although you can pick up a pair with neoprene lining, which is ideal for keeping your feet warm on cold days outdoors, the wellies also come in a jersey-lined option which is more breathable for year-round use.
And although they’re obviously a celeb-approved pick for country walks, they’re also a great choice for any upcoming festivals you might be attending. Obviously they’ll keep your feet dry against any rain or mud, but they’ve been designed with a shock-absorbing sole and anti-fatigue arch support which stops your legs and feet from getting tired and achy even after hours of wear (or dancing).
The Vierzon Wellies also feature an adjustable waterproof gusset with an adjustable buckle fastening, and the soles have dual-density grip that stops you slipping on any terrain. The rubber is also soft and flexible, so there’s no rubbing, and the jersey lining is sweat-wicking and fast-drying.
They do, however, only come in light green, dark green and black, so if you’re wanting something a little more fun and colourful to liven up your festival outfit, you can still get some celeb inspiration. One pair that’s something of a festival icon is the Hunter Downpour Tall Wellington Boots which were made famous by Kate Moss at Glastonbury, and come in colours like red, pink, and even cow print.
Recent years have also seen more stars wearing Barbour wellies, especially the ankle length versions which are great when it’s extra hot or not expected to be too muddy. You can choose from all kinds of colourways and designs, including some western-inspired ones with a harness detail.
