Seth Curry ‘absolutely' willing to remain with Warriors in NBA free agency

Дата публикации: 16-07-2026 15:05:19

Could Seth Curry return to the Warriors next season?
The veteran sharpshooter — and Steph’s little brother, of course — isn’t ruling it out, even after a self-admitted “disappointing” 2025-26 NBA season in which he played just 10 games due to injury.
At last week’s American Century Championship in South Lake Tahoe, the younger Curry joined NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole to discuss the next steps in his career.
“I’m just trying to get completely healthy still, in the offseason and see what happens here in July and August with free agency,” Curry told Poole on “Dubs Talk.” “A lot of turnover throughout the league with a lot of transactions. At this point in my career, just trying to find a perfect situation for me, and see what happens going forward this summer.”
Curry is now a free agent after signing a one-year, veteran minimum contract with Golden State last December. With Steph also sidelined for much of the second half of the season with a knee injury, the Curry brothers played in just three regular-season games together.
So while the dream of sharing an NBA court with his older brother finally has been realized, Seth understandably desires some more.
“I mean, absolutely,” Seth responded when asked by Poole if he’d be willing to return to the Warriors. “I wasn’t able to do everything I wanted to do on the floor last year, but I always got a lot of love for the organization, the fans — first class. Like I said, it’s disappointing what I dealt with last season.”
Though his opportunities to contribute to Golden State last season were few and far between, Curry did have moments when he showed what he still can contribute to an NBA team.
In his season debut with the Warriors on Dec. 2, he scored 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting and 2 of 3 from behind the arc in 18 minutes.
Overall — though the sample size is very small — Curry made 12 of 25 3-point attempts last season, which remains as useful as ever in today’s NBA.
How much longer 38-year-old Steph will play in the NBA is a frequent topic of conversation. But it’s also something to monitor for Seth, who turns 36 in late August.
“At this point, I’m taking it year by year,” Seth explained. “I mean, for me, a 13-year career up to this point. I only wanted to play — my goal coming in was to play 10. I was undrafted, played in Santa Cruz, had to earn every step of the way. So, I mean, not that I’m satisfied, but I’m happy with what I’ve done throughout my career, and I take it year by year. When you start getting injuries like this, it’s tough. … We’ll see what happens in the next couple months.”
As Dub Nation has become accustomed to saying and hearing amid the wait for a LeBron James decision, we just will have to wait and see what happens.
