Wight Tri athletes excelled in a challenging and chaotic race in Llandudno.

Helen Scholes and Trevor Prior participated in the Wild Horse Brewing Company Sprint Triathlon on Sunday, which doubled as the Welsh Triathlon Sprint Championships.

The race was marred by last-minute changes, including a shortened swim and turbulent mass start.

Scholes decided to compete at the last minute.

Both athletes endured a rough swim with heavy contact.

The bike leg around the Great Orme presented steep climbs, strong winds, and unexpected open-road traffic.

Scholes managed to recover from a dropped chain, while Prior navigated around a course blocked by a sheep!

Despite the disruptions, both athletes completed the blustery two-lap run, with Prior finishing in 1:44:43.

Scholes secured second place in the Welsh National Sprint Championships (T60–64) with a time of 1:26:20.
