Will you be updating this post as you get a chance to try it out?

Interestingly, the system's full functionality is based off of D&D Beyond's subscription tiers, with access to create multiplayer rooms and the ability to share and load maps tied to the Master Tier account. Master Tier subscribers also have access to builder kits, custom mini outfits, and unpainted minis.

Sigil has been in development since at least 2023 alongside the launch of the One D&D initiative. One major concern about the new system, which uses Unreal Engine 5 to create 3D battle maps for D&D, was its pricing. At least for now, pricing seems to be tied directly to D&D Beyond subscriptions instead of pushing an additional monetization scheme onto players.

Worth keeping an eye on Master Tier subscription prices, I suspect. At the moment, I don't have any plans for using this and will not be enthusiastic if I'm suddenly paying more money for a bundled product I can't opt out of.

PC only is disappointing.

While not as pretty, so far the MAPS VTT on DDbeyond is orders of magnitude more useful than SIGIL.

I use Maps for my online group and it's great. I've tried SIGIL a few times in the last month or so, can't even imagine running a test encounter with it, much less a session - just found it clunky and difficult. Hope it gets much easier!

PC only is disappointing.

They want to branch out with time.

IMO the worst part is that no where on the page do they say Windows only. No requirements are listed.

This is a small thing but aligns with WotC's terrible history with tabletop apps.

MAPS is what they should have thrown all this effort behind.

More and more SIGIL just looks like a video game with extra steps...

I got the email for the gold dragon since I got the book/digital bundle for 2024 books….ill have to try it out tomorrow. On a related note, I was building a dungeon for my table top players to explore on both old tabletop connect but more recently the dm mode for Solasta…the only drawback is how quickly they could go through say a 10 room dungeon compared to the same 10 rooms at the table but I do enjoy giving them different play experiences to keep it fresh and mingle in new things. If this can be used in anyway like that, I’m game for giving it a try.

It does say it in the FAQ, but yea they should save folks a download.
