Girl & the Goat says ‘cheers’ to five years
Girl & the Goat Los Angeles will celebrate its fifth anniversary with a special event on Sunday, Aug. 9, featuring food, music and activities for guests.
The afternoon celebration will include chef stations serving signature dishes alongside new menu items, music by DJ Kareem, commemorative photo opportunities and raffle prizes. Guests may also purchase an optional “5 Years, 5 Wines” tasting featuring five wine pairings selected by the restaurant’s beverage team.
Tickets are $65 per person, with admission for children ages 10 and younger available for $25. Tickets are available through OpenTable.
The anniversary marks five years since Chef Stephanie Izard opened the Los Angeles location of Girl & the Goat.
The restaurant has also expanded its takeout options and is now available through DoorDash.

Project Angel Food takes flight at WeHo Breakfast Co.
West Hollywood Breakfast Company has launched a new fundraising campaign benefiting Project Angel Food, continuing its partnership with the Los Angeles nonprofit organization.
Through Sept. 22, the restaurant is donating 100% of proceeds from its $8 Project Angel Food Blue Iced Latte to the organization. The specialty beverage is made with butterfly pea powder, vanilla, pure maple syrup, espresso, milk, whipped cream and toasted coconut.
The restaurant is also introducing a new incentive for Project Angel Food volunteers. Individuals who complete five volunteer shifts with the organization may redeem a volunteer punch card for a complimentary stack of pancakes and a cup of coffee at the restaurant.
Volunteer punch cards will be provided by Project Angel Food. Information about volunteering is available through the organization.
West Hollywood Breakfast Company previously donated $10,000 to Project Angel Food during its soft opening weekend fundraiser in October and later held a separate fundraising campaign earlier this year.

Joan’s on Third debuts poke bowls
Joan’s on Third has expanded its menu with the addition of two poke bowls.
The new offerings include a spicy tuna poke bowl for $16.95 and a vegetarian poke bowl for $14.95. Both are served with cucumber, avocado, edamame, carrot, sesame seeds, spicy mayo, sushi glaze and rice.
The new menu items are now available at the restaurant and marketplace.

Pawn Shop LA kicks off World Cup Final party
Pawn Shop LA will host a World Cup Final Fan Zone on Sunday, July 19, inviting soccer fans to gather for a free outdoor watch party at the recently opened sports venue in Hollywood.
The event will run from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at Pawn Shop LA, 5901 Melrose Ave. Admission is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendance will be capped at 250 people.
The fan zone will feature a large outdoor screen with full match audio for the championship game. An outdoor beer garden will offer beer, cocktails and the venue’s signature Pawn Shop Spritz. Food will be available throughout the event from Chef Tony Messina.
Pregame festivities, including giveaways, are scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. Following the match, attendees can watch the trophy presentation on the big screen before a post-match celebration.
Pawn Shop LA opened a few weeks ago and has attracted crowds during the World Cup tournament. Organizers said the event is intended to provide a community gathering place for fans to watch one of the world’s largest sporting events together.

Mic Drop LA will celebrate International Karaoke Day on Sunday, July 19, by offering complimentary private karaoke room rentals throughout its regular business hours.
The West Hollywood venue will waive both karaoke room rental fees and food and beverage minimums for the one-day promotion. Reservations are required and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis through the venue’s website until all rooms are booked.
Located in the Rainbow District, Mic Drop LA features private karaoke rooms and a main stage designed for group performances.

Habit hits a home run for CHLA
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia joined representatives from Children’s Hospital Los Angeles at Dodgers x Habit Home Base in Echo Park to announce a fundraising campaign that will support the hospital’s programs for children and families across Southern California.
The fundraiser will take place Thursday, July 16, from 4-9 p.m. at participating Habit Burger & Grill locations in Los Angeles, Orange County and Riverside County. During the event, Habit will donate 20% of eligible net sales to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
Guests dining in can participate by showing the fundraiser flyer before completing their purchase. Customers ordering online, through the Habit app or at an in-restaurant kiosk can use the promo code GIVEBACK. A fundraiser flyer and a list of participating locations are available at HabitBurger.com /CHLA.
“Being part of this community means a lot to me, and I’m grateful to team up with Habit to support CHLA,” Vesia said. “CHLA does incredible work for kids and their families, and this fundraiser gives Dodgers fans an easy way to make a meaningful impact.”

Voodoo Doughnut goes skinny dipping
Voodoo Doughnut has introduced Skinny Dippers, a new seasonal menu item featuring glazed doughnut fries served with dipping sauces.
Each order includes handcrafted glazed doughnut fries and a choice of two dips. Flavor options include confetti cake, made with cream cheese and rainbow sprinkles; orange dreamsicle, featuring orange and vanilla; raspberry cream; and brownie batter, topped with chocolate cookie crumbles.
“We had a lot of fun dreaming this one up,” said Taylor Fish, Voodoo Doughnut’s director of marketing. “Skinny Dippers take something familiar and turn it into a completely new experience, giving guests the chance to mix, match and discover a new favorite flavor combination with every dip.”
The seasonal item is available for a limited time this summer at participating Voodoo Doughnut locations while supplies last.
Barnsdall Fridays adds new attractions
Barnsdall Fridays Wine Nights has announced new food vendors, arts programming and special activities as the fundraising series continues through Sept. 11 at Barnsdall Art Park.
Hosted by the Barnsdall Art Park Foundation, the weekly event takes place Fridays from 5:30-9 p.m. on the West Lawn of Hollyhock House, the city’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Beginning Friday, July 31, Café Maghreb will join the lineup ahead of the planned November opening of its first brick-and-mortar restaurant. Chef Majda Belaroui’s North African pop-up will offer Moroccan-inspired dishes including sardine and merguez sandwiches, msemen, pastries and traditional sweets.
Servet also joins the series, serving small-batch ice cream with globally inspired flavors such as Korean Nurungji, Toast and Dutch Speculaas.
Throughout July, visitors can browse the Summer Night Art Fair, featuring ceramics, jewelry, paintings and handcrafted works created by artists from the Barnsdall Arts Center and Junior Arts Center community.
Guests attending the July 24 and Aug. 21 events may enter a $20 raffle for a chance to win one of two pairs of VIP tickets to Just Like Heaven Fest, scheduled for Aug. 22.
Also during July, Heavy Manners Library will present artist-led workshops at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, inviting participants to create art through writing, printmaking, drawing and other activities.
Beginning Sept. 3, the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery will present the exhibition “Susan Silton: Diving Into the Wreck.”

Little Dom’s spotlights natural wine
Little Dom’s will host two community events in partnership with California natural wine label Wonderwerk later this month, featuring wine tastings, seafood specials and live music.
On Wednesday, July 22, the restaurant will offer a neighborhood happy hour from 5-7 p.m. with pours of two to three wines from Wonderwerk’s Big Juicy line available for $10 per glass.
Beginning at 5 p.m. and continuing through closing, Little Dom’s will also serve a special seafood menu from its Central Coast sister restaurant, Little Dom’s Seafood. The menu will include smoked fish rillettes, cold-smoked salmon, tuna carpaccio, albacore pastrami and wood oven-roasted fish, in addition to the restaurant’s regular offerings.
A second event, Disco Vino, is scheduled for Friday, July 24, from 9-11 p.m. The gathering will serve as an unofficial after-party following Wonderwerk’s event at Barnsdall Park.
Guests can enjoy California wines, light bites and an all-vinyl DJ set by Chelsea Dean, who performs as minifunk, featuring house, funk and disco music. Attendees may purchase a Wonderwerk-branded glass for $25, which includes complimentary wine pours during the event.
