Alec Baldwin has voiced his concern about being an older father as he and wife Hilaria Baldwin addressed their 26-year age gap.

The couple, who are now 66 and 41 respectively, tied the knot in 2012 when Alec was 54 and the former yoga instructor was 28.

Twelve years into their marriage, they share seven children together: Carmen Gabriela, 11, Rafael Thomas, nine, Leonardo Angel Charles, eight, Romeo Alejandro David, six, Eduardo Pao Lucas, four, Maria Lucia Victoria, three, and Ilaria Catalina Irena, two.

Speaking in their new TLC reality series The Baldwins, Hilaria revealed that their stark age gap works for them – although her other half admitted he was 'worried' about being an older parent.

Speaking in her confessional, Hilaria said: 'Alec and I are 26 years apart. It's something that people focus on a lot. I don't believe that age is just a number.

'He was very different when he was 26 years younger, and I'll probably be very different when I'm 26 years older.

'And I think if you respect that and you see your person where they and see it for what it is, and then see if it works, and obviously it does for us.'

Meanwhile, Alec, who also has a daughter Ireland, 29, from his previous marriage to actress Kim Basinger, whom he divorced in 2002 after nine years of marriage, shared his fears of being an older father.

'I'm 66-years-old and I've got seven kids,' he said. 'Once you hit 50, you're not old, but you have no time to waste. I'm worried.'

Sharing insight into the early days of their romance, Alec said: 'I fell in love with my wife because she's so special.

'I feel like I've never met anyone like this before, never. I never have.

'Hilaria, when I met her, she was in a world where she was very valued and appreciated and loved by people. Her life was a lot simpler in some senses.

'She had what she had, and she was happy, and I sucked her into this filthy, disgusting world that I'm in. I think she's less happy as a result of what we had to put up with.'

Hilaria candidly added that she fell in love with Alec because of his looks.

'People think I married you for money, fame, glamor,' she said.

'Why I married you is because you are a good-looking guy, and you were a good-looking guy.'

Opening up about their huge brood, Alec and Hilaria revealed that they didn't set out to have so many children.

'I never thought at my age… holy moly,' Alec admitted.

Elsewhere in the debut episode of The Baldwins, Hilaria admitted that she didn't even know what a prenup was when she married Alec but signed it anyway.

In an awkward admission in the couple's reality TV series, the former yoga instructor says that she was 'very stupid' to agree to the terms before their wedding in 2012.

The light-hearted exchanges between Hilaria and Alec occur throughout through the first episode of the show, titled 'Here Comes Hilaria.'

At one point, as they sit next to each other, Alec says: 'After my first marriage I said let's have a prenup, [Hilaria] wasn't happy about it. It's an awkward thing.'

Speaking over Alec, Hilaria says: 'No, no. It is awkward.

'I didn't understand what a prenup is. You're like:"After a certain number of kids it's this."

'I just said I'll sign it, which was probably very stupid of me back then. I didn't want to think about the end [of the marriage] at the beginning. Now [I should] read it again.'

Alec cuts in and tells his wife to 'talk slower.'

He tells her: 'Speaking English in a Spanish cadence which is always perilous for me. I can't understand you.'

At another point Alec complains how Hilaria gets to make all the decisions about their life, prompting a pointed exchange.

He says: 'There was a point after we had our fifth kid she changed and started calling all the shots. All of a sudden one day she made a decision to make things easier for her. Whatever I'd say she'd say: "No! No!"'

Addressing his wife, he says: 'You and I used to be more collaborative, we'd argue, we'd discuss We'd have some accommodation. One day you changed. No matter what I said, (you said) no.'

In a withering put-down, Hilaria tells her husband: 'I agree that's your reality of it'.

She goes on: 'But what I used to do is say yes and do whatever I wanted and keep it from you'.

Alec fires back: 'You gaslit me'.

Alec also opened up about the disastrous impact the Rust shooting has had on his mental health, admitting that he is happier when he's asleep than in his waking life.

In October 2021, he accidentally killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins when he discharged a gun being used as a prop on the set of the western film.

The following October, Alec reached an undisclosed settlement with Hutchins' family in their wrongful death lawsuit.

His trial for involuntary manslaughter was thrown out in August 2024.

'This past year was just terrible,' Alec admitted while speaking in his confessional.

'There were times I'd lay in bed and I'd just go 'I can't get up.' And that's not like me at all. I'm not like that in any way. Never.'

Speaking in her own confessional, Hilaria added: 'Everyone who is close to Alec has seen his mental health decline.

'He was diagnosed with PTSD, and he says in his darkest moments, if an accident were to have happened this day why am I still here, why couldn't it have been me?'

The Baldwins premieres Sunday, February 23 at 10/9c on TLC, with new episodes airing weekly. Episodes are available to stream on Max.
