It's been awhile, huh. . ?
Done as part of Dwelling of Duels' Christmas 2025 SECRET SANTA, for my main man, Gregorio Franco -- lover of all things Mega Man X, Warhammer 40k, and HEAVY fuckin' METAL! *throws up the horns* Mutual respect and adoration for MMX, (Sigma Stage 2 being one of my favorite tracks from the original 3 games for the SNES!)
But now? …Guess we're (also) just putting the "Black" in 'Black Metal' & (US) 'Black History Month'. Starring some dueling organs! :D
I kinda lie; in retrospect and after some back and forth on workshopping this piece, admittedly it's got facets of 'Dungeon Synth', 'Dark Synthwave' and 'Keygen' in it, and I can feel where that inspiration and influence came from. Find it pretty dope I had incidentally done that! Glad for it, too, since that totally tickled Greg's fancy, so much so, to quote: " [...] It's like you went into my computer and found all the samples and instruments I use and used them yourself. [...]", which I find to be a huge compliment (considering I didn't know him until after the Secret Santa LP, nor was familiar with his work and style! So THANK YOU, Gregorio! ♥)
TL;DR -- this was also an attempt and exercise in employing some of the advice given to me in the past year or so from several people within the OCR space, to try and "refine/put my own style into" a source track or two, but...being a bit more conservative in approach, "coloring within the lines" so I can try to understand the collaboration process and music theory better. Find ways to arrange and innovate on orchestration without *necessarily* having to go overboard with a bunch of different foley and material, or cause dissonance by having too many disparate layers, or finding difficulty in making the full track cohesive. Not only that, I was honing in a lot more on the mixing, processing and mastering side of things, curtailing some things, learning others, and curating/consolidating the process of music making from start to finish so it all sounds cleaner and more professional, while still maintaining a level of depth and dynamics throughout. Just...trying to show a bit of capability in restraint and ability to work within the constraints of minimalism. :) As of late, being able to make a mix that still has all the bells and whistles of being 'me'-coded and creative, without breaking the bank (or my sanity bar) has been nice and refreshing to do.
A MASSIVE thank you to my brothers-in-arms on this, Siolfor, SC and Serrin, not only for taking the time out of their busy schedules to help me achieve my very first "kinda purist" Black Metal remix, but for selecting such awesome guitar tones and epic drumming to go with it! Their playing here was extravagant. And, in working with all three of them for the first-time ever, it was an amazing and wonderful collab to be had! I hope to get to work with them again soon; very fun chaps to talk to, awesome artists, talented musicians, and cool, chill dudes!
Enjoy! And thank you for taking the time to review this track!

SOURCE BREAKDOWN (e.g. how 'Children of the Omnissiah' fits into/around 'Sigma Stage 2' usage):
As far as I was able to determine, CotO is 4/4, but using triplets. All I simply did was remove the triplet-action, swapped which instruments/voicings did which parts and cut the notes down within 4 measures or over 1-2 bars in half, to either stretch (or shorten) their phrases over 4/4 played straight and adding to that "Black Metal / plodding"-vibe. The material in the CotO source also has 'ending' phrases that wraps the song back to the loop point(s), but that's where I had to get creative to modify them to fit the key and progression of SS2, instead.
Organ in source (starts from 00:00) = Glockenspiel in the remix (starts from 00:01)
Choir Chord Prog / Bass in source (starts from 00:03 / 00:09) = Rotary Organ Chords in remix (you hear them @ 2:16 & 4:17)
2nd Organ Vamping in source acting as countermelody/arpeggio (00:46) = Tubular Bells in remix (you hear them @ 3:12 & 4:55)

LYRICS / VOICE-OVER:
Original as Transcribed from the Opening Cinematic of Mechanicus --
"From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me.
I craved for the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine.
Your kind cling to your flesh as if it will not decay and fail you.
One day the crude biomass that you called a temple will wither, and you'll beg my kind to save you.
But I am already saved. For the machine is immortal. Even in death, I serve the Omnissiah."
Modified 'Virus' Version (and Used in the Remix) --
From the moment I understood the weakness of my <being>, it disgusted me.
I craved for the strength and certainty of <a Maverick>. I aspired to the purity of the blessed <virus>.
Your kind cling to your flesh as if it will not decay and fail you.
One day the crude biomass that you called a temple will wither, and you'll beg my kind to <eradicate you>.
<...We are One. The Machine is Immortal, and His Data is Divine. For even in death, I serve Sigma.>
Glory Unto He. . . Blessed Be the Machine.
