A tattoo artist who calls herself the 'Queen of the North' online has been charged with rape and unlawful wounding.

Amelia Chelsea Aguilera's lawyer applied for bail on her behalf in Townsville Magistrates Court, Far North Queensland, on Wednesday.

It's alleged Aguilera committed the offences in November and December 2023, the Townsville Bulletin reported.

She has not entered a plea to either charge.

Magistrate Viviana Keegan granted Aguilera bail on the condition she does not contact the complainant.

Her case is due to return to court on August 12 but she is not required to appear.

Aguilera shared a video on her Instagram and Facebook on Tuesday in which she claimed officers found 'a single valium pill and a taser.'

'The police want me, and today I am handing myself in,' she said.

'No hater is going to tip off the Bulletin.

'I'm going to be in court in the next day or two, and I'm going to be applying for bail, for whatever the f–k these new charges are man.'

It's understood Aguilera initially faced drug and weapons charges.

She told her more than 60,000 followers she's 'not going away'.

'You look at people that are hurting the innocent, people that are getting done with serious things, they're not getting the books thrown at them like I do,' she said.

'They're trying to silence me, that's never happening, it doesn't matter.'

Just a few days earlier, Aguilera announced she would no longer be participating in local pageant Miss Townsville due to 'unforeseen new circumstances'.

'You can climb to the top guys, and there is gonna be people that will pray on your downfall, and they will not stop until they see you down,' she said.

'I'm not going anywhere, ever, what's not clocking?'

Her Instagram page, which has 60,000 followers, appeared to be offline on Wednesday night.
