Kaiserslautern’s 750th Anniversary Celebration

Kaiserslautern is turning 750, and the city plans to celebrate all year long! The festivities kick off in January with the city’s New Year’s reception and wrap up with the Christmas market in December. Highlights include a grand choir and orchestra festival in March, the opening of the Rhineland-Palatinate Cultural Summer in May, and the statewide Volunteer Day in August.

Throughout the summer, a stage in the city will host various programs, while the local cultural scene is organizing a two-day festival. Other unique activities include planting 750 trees, baking a massive 750-meter-long yeast loaf, and hosting so called "Apéro-Treff" events with food and music at different locations on Saturdays. To toast the occasion, the city will even release its own beer and wine.
