Giving your shower screen a regular clean removes harmful contaminants while helping to ward off the build-up of mineral deposits and soap scum. Not only does this improve hygiene and appearance, but it also extends the lifespan of your shower glass by shielding it from etching.
With 17 years in the cleaning industry under her belt, professional cleaner Charmaine took to her TikTok page @charmaineallen87 to reveal her two-step technique for sparkling shower screens.
She relies on two products from Home Bargains — one to tackle limescale, and another to buff the glass to a shine.
Drawing on her wealth of experience, Charmaine said, "Shower screens can be hard to clean if you do not have the right cleaning products. I know what I'm using as I've been doing this for 17 years. I'm going to show you what works."

The product Charmaine swears by is the Kilrock The One That Works bathroom spray, available at Home Bargains for just £1.99.
She said, "Let me tell you, it really really does work. I would not share this with you if it didn't work. The bonus is that it smells like lemon."
It sells out so quickly, but honestly, it's a must-have. Takes the hard work out of any shower clean.
"To clean shower screen with this product, Charmaine said, "I leave it to soak for 20 minutes before rinsing. Respray, then use a cloth."
Following this, Charmaine then uses the Elbow Grease Glass Cleaner, available for 99p at Home Bargains, to buff the screen for the finishing touches.
For those seeking a more natural approach to cleaning shower screens, many followers in the comments section suggested using vinegar as an alternative.
Vinegar is an excellent shower screen cleaner as it contains acetic acid, a key ingredient found in many shop-bought household cleaners, yet it's far more eco-friendly and considerably cheaper.
Vinegar's acidic properties make it highly effective at dissolving dirt, grease and grime, as well as killing bacteria.
White distilled vinegar is the top choice for cleaning, as it contains no colouring agents, unlike darker varieties, meaning it won't leave behind any unsightly stains.
With around 5% acidity, white distilled vinegar matches the strength of many shop-bought household cleaners, making it the ultimate budget-friendly alternative that's likely already sitting in your kitchen cupboard.
