Gaining Ground on May 14 will host its inaugural “Gather & Grow” fundraising dinner, an intimate evening designed to bring the community together around fresh food and shared purpose.

Gaining Ground is a Chattanooga based nonprofit with a mission to increase access to locally grown food, provide nutrition education, and inspire engagement in regional agriculture.

“Our organization is excited to share this new event with our community,” said Holly Martin, founder and executive director of Gaining Ground. “Gather and Grow is about sharing a meal, hearing stories, and recognizing that we all have a role to play in strengthening our community through food.”

Guests will also hear a brief story highlighting the impact of Gaining Ground’s programs, offering a glimpse into the organization’s work to increase access to healthy food, support local farmers, and build a more connected regional food system.

Officials said, "Set in a beautiful garden courtyard at the height of the spring season, the evening will feature a family-style meal prepared by acclaimed chef Kenyatta Ashford, highlighting seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms. Designed to foster connection, the dinner will bring together supporters, partners, and community members for a meaningful and engaging experience."

Proceeds from the event will support Gaining Ground’s ongoing programs and help expand opportunities for community members to access fresh, locally grown food.

With limited seating, the dinner is designed to create an intimate, welcoming atmosphere that encourages conversation and connection, it was stated.

It will be at 6 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 20 Belvoir Ave., in Brainerd.
