The official poster of the Amaravati Championship-2026 was released by District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore at the Collectorate here on Tuesday, marking the start of promotional activities for the month-long sporting event.

Organised by the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh to coincide with National Sports Day on August 29, the championship will feature competitions in 12 disciplines for boys and girls in the under-17 and under-23 categories. Events will be held at the constituency, district and State levels across the State.

Selections at the constituency level will be conducted from July 15 to 25, followed by inter-constituency competition-cum-selection from July 26 to August 10. The State-level competition is scheduled from August 20 to 29. The programme will be held in coordination with sports associations, the Board of Intermediate Education, higher and technical education institutions, and the School Education Department.

Joint Collector G. Vidyadhari and District Sports Development Officer June Gallyot were among those present. The Collector congratulated skaters A. Sai Samhitha and Girishma for their recent achievements. The administration appealed to sportspersons, institutions and the public to take part.
