Andrea Sachs is in for a rude awakening as she returns to the cutthroat world of fashion.

A new trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 reveals another layer of Miranda Priestly's relentless nature as she continues to rule Runway with an iron fist.

In a new sneak peek, Priestly (Meryl Streep) awakens Sachs (Anne Hathaway) as she drops by her home without warning in the morning.

She bangs on the door and a stunned Sachs, wearing her pajamas and a sleep mask, answers the door.

'Pull yourself together,' Runway's editor-in-chief instructs her. 'We have work to do. And by we, I mean you.'

The sequel is slated for a May 1, 2026 release, marking exactly 20 years since the original took audiences behind the glossy yet cutthroat world of high fashion.

Andrea Sachs (played by Anne Hathaway) is awoken by none other than her boss Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) in a new trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2

Priestly is clearly unbothered by the hour she is visiting her employee at

The plot: Miranda Priestly (Streep) struggles against Emily Charlton (Blunt), her former assistant turned rival executive, as they compete for advertising revenue amid declining print media, while Priestly nears retirement.

Charlton is now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs, according to Variety.

When the first film came out, Blunt's character was rumored to be inspired by former Vogue writer Victoria 'Plum' Sykes, who herself has strenuously denied as much.

Priestly's character, however, is thought to be inspired by American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who announced she would be stepping down from her role in June after 37 years.

It appears Priestly has retained her icy demeanor in this sequel.

In one scene in the first film, Sachs chuckles through an editorial fashion meeting led by Priestly, who then delivers a cutting assessment of her ‘cerulean’ sweater.

‘You think this has nothing to do with you,’ Priestly tells her.

‘You go to your closet, and you select, I don’t know, that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you’re trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back, but what you don’t know is that that sweater is not just blue, it’s not turquoise, it’s not lapis, it’s actually cerulean.’

A second trailer for the movie offers another glimpse of the glamorous world of Runway

The scene became iconic and spawned the ‘cerulean blue’ theory of how all styles trickle down from the catwalk.

The original Devil Wears Prada wasn't just a box office smash - it cemented itself as a cultural touchstone, turning Streep's Miranda Priestly into an instantly iconic character and inspiring a generation of fashion lovers to whisper, 'That's all.'

The original scored two Academy Award nominations, including Best Actress for Meryl, who also took home the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.

Stanley Tucci is also back as Runway's art director Nigel

A new poster for the high-fashion film teases the glamour awaiting audiences

It earned five BAFTA nods, three Golden Globe nominations overall, and cemented itself as one of the defining comedies of the 2000s.

David Frankel and Aline Brosh McKenna, the director and writer, respectively, of the original movie, have been enlisted for the same jobs on the sequel.

The Devil Wears Prada is based on the novel by Lauren Weisberger and was published in 2003.

It has since been made into a musical, starring Vanessa Williams as Miranda Priestly and with music by Elton John.
