SpaceX and the popular card game Cards Against Humanity have settled their lawsuit over the use and destruction of CAH’s private land. The game is hoping to use the proceeds to pay back the fans that helped purchase the land.

In 2017, Cards Against Humanity purchased land along the Mexico border in a troll against President Trump’s border wall. While its crusades against the wall have faded, the game company still owns the land, which was purchased by fans for $15 a person.

What the card game didn’t expect next was its land being used by SpaceX during the rapid expansion of its Starbase; the land was used to store construction equipment and gravel, according to the game company.

SpaceX and CAH settled before it could move on to trial, CAH stating trial would have cost more than what they would have gotten out of it. The details have not been made public, and likely never will, but it doesn’t sound like CAH got much out of it.

“Were we hoping to be able to pay all our fans? Sure. But we did warn them they would ‘probably only be able to get like $2 or most likely nothing,'” the company said.

Cards Against Humanity told the AP that the company has been able to take back control of its land, has posted “no trespassing” signs, and worked with a landscaper to return the lot to its original state.
