Hours after Taylor Swift released a surprise music video for her single Elizabeth Taylor, the late screen legend's estate reacted to the tribute composed entirely of archival clips from her films Cleopatra, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, A Place in the Sun, Giant and more.

'It is a celebration of Elizabeth from beginning to end, and an homage in the truest sense,' a rep told TMZ on Tuesday.

'We are delighted by this celebration and the care with which Taylor Swift has spotlighted what so many have long understood: Elizabeth Taylor was a true icon, a trailblazer in every sense of the word.

'She lived unapologetically and on her own terms, embracing her public life with grace and courage while fiercely protecting the private world she cherished with family and friends. That balance, that duality, was one of her most remarkable qualities.'

Elizabeth's estate continued: 'If there is anyone navigating the extraordinary pressures of global fame with comparable authenticity and strength, it is Taylor Swift. The estate is honored that she chose to pay tribute in this way, and have no doubt that Elizabeth would have loved every frame of it.'

The child star-turned-Oscar winner with vibrant violet eyes died, age 79, in 2011 from congestive heart failure.

The 36-year-old billionaire pop star ended her fully-authorized montage devoted to Elizabeth by thanking the House of Taylor, the Elizabeth Taylor Trust, the Todd family and the Wilding family.

For some reason, Swift opted to stream Elizabeth Taylor on Apple Music and Spotify rather than her formal YouTube account, but she did promote it to her combined 536.5 million social media followers.

'There's a song called Elizabeth Taylor, which is sort of my emotions and my issues with fame through the lens of cosplaying the life of Elizabeth Taylor, so you kind of meld the two experiences together,' the 14-time Grammy winner told the Elvis Duran Show last October.

'She is always someone that I've looked up to as being this very glamorous, very beloved, but for some reason a polarizing figure, which I found myself in that place, too.'

Swift previously sang about the amfAR co-founder's scandalous on/off marriage to her Cleopatra leading man Richard Burton in her 2017 hit song, ...Ready for It: 'And he can be jailor / Burton to this Taylor.'

The Pennsylvania-born belter's 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl is currently number 12 on the Billboard 200 chart an impressive 25 weeks after it dropped.

Last Thursday, Swift glammed up to attend the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards where she won trophies for artist of the year, pop song of the year, album of the year, best lyrics, best music video and favorite tour style.

The homeschooled millennial also packed on the PDA with her fiancé Travis Kelce, whom she will reportedly marry later this year.

On December 4, Page Six reported that Swift paid off another bride in order to book the Ocean House in Watch Hill, RI for June 13.
