India Yamaha Motor has expanded its motorcycle portfolio with the launch of the Yamaha FZ Blue Flex Fuel in India. Priced at an introductory Rs 1,24,240 (ex-showroom), the new motorcycle marks Yamaha's entry into the country's growing flex-fuel segment. Designed to run on ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E20 to E85, the FZ Blue Flex aligns with India's push towards cleaner and more sustainable mobility solutions.

Here's everything you need to know about Yamaha's latest flex-fuel motorcycle.

The Yamaha FZ Blue Flex Fuel has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 1,24,240 (ex-showroom).

The motorcycle will be available through select Blue Square dealerships across:

• Delhi
• Uttar Pradesh
• Maharashtra
• Karnataka
• Telangana
• Tamil Nadu

Powering the new motorcycle is a 149cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that has been specially updated to support ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E20 to E85.

The engine produces:

• 11.3 bhp of power
• 12.8 Nm of peak torque

It is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. According to Yamaha, the engine has been engineered to deliver consistent everyday performance while operating on different ethanol fuel blends.

The FZ Blue Flex Fuel retains the familiar styling of Yamaha's FZ range while incorporating the company's latest design elements.

Exterior highlights include:

• Full-LED projector headlamp
• Integrated LED position lamps
• Sculpted fuel tank
• Aerodynamic bodywork
• Compact exhaust
• LED tail lamp
• Single-piece seat

The motorcycle is offered in a Metallic Black colour option.

The feature list remains largely similar to the standard FZ motorcycle.

Key features include:

• LCD instrument cluster
• Single-channel ABS
• Telescopic front forks
• Rear monoshock suspension

However, the motorcycle does not include premium connected features such as Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation or traction control.

A flex-fuel motorcycle is designed to operate on petrol blended with varying proportions of ethanol. The Yamaha FZ Blue Flex supports fuel blends ranging from E20 (20% ethanol) to E85 (85% ethanol).

Ethanol is considered a cleaner alternative fuel that can help reduce dependence on conventional fossil fuels and lower vehicle emissions.

With the launch of the FZ Blue Flex Fuel, Yamaha has joined the growing list of manufacturers introducing ethanol-compatible vehicles in India. As the government continues to promote higher ethanol blending, flex-fuel motorcycles are expected to play an increasingly important role in the country's transition towards greener transportation.
