A furious mum whose CCTV captured a tradie doing his business on her front lawn under the cover of darkness hopes to catch the filthy culprit in the act.

Patricia claims that the 'shameless pig' has been dropping his pants outside her Oakleigh home on Melbourne's eastern outskirts for several years.

She estimated the so-called 'poo-petrator' has defecated on her lawn at least 15 times in three years. 

This is despite petrol stations and fast food outlets with toilet facilities located nearby. 

CCTV showed the man dressed in tradie attire parking his van outside Patricia's home in the early hours of the morning.

He was captured getting out and couching down to relieving himself on the lawn while hiding behind the open passenger door of his van.

The man then got out wipes to clean himself, which were disposed of on the  lawn before he drove away.

'He's just a shameless pig. He's got no shame,' Patricia told A Current Affair. 

'I was just gobsmacked, everyone I've shown it (the video) to has been laughing.'

Patricia and her neighbours are now on earl morning poo patrol, determined to catch the mysterious man in the act. 

She's fed up with the man who has caused quite the stink in the street and insisted she's done nothing to him.

'The first time it happened it was midnight,' Patricia recalled.

'I thought I needed to set up the camera system to find out what it was, and that's when I found out it's actually a human and not a dog.' 

Patricia has reported the incident to police. 

She also hoped to get to the bottom of the saga by speaking publicly as she issued some advice to the man.

'It's disgusting. You just don't want to wash someone's faeces down the street,' she said.

'If I were you I'd stop because you're going to get caught with your pants down.'
