Bob MacIntyre roared in celebration after a famous victory in the Genesis Scottish Open - and was determined to savour the party of a lifetime.
MacIntyre admitted it was the best day of his life after a stunning finish saw him hole a 20-foot putt on the final green to take the title.
That came after an eagle three on the 16th fired him back into contention, with his total of 18-under par enough to pip Adam Scott by a single shot.
In emotional scenes at The Renaissance Club in East Lothian, MacIntyre fought back the tears after the biggest win of his career.
Set to speak at a press conference at Royal Troon on Monday ahead of this week’s Open Championship, the Scot admitted that may well be put on the backburner.
‘I think there might be a change of schedule,’ smiled MacIntyre, who pocketed a winner’s cheque for just over $1.5million and will move into the top 20 of the world rankings.

‘I don’t think I’ll be in a fit state to get to Troon. I don’t think I’ll be legally able to drive.
‘I’m going to celebrate this with my family, friends, and everyone here. I’m going to celebrate this one hard. They won’t be going home for a wee while tonight.
‘How do I come down from this? I will just try and ride the wave, and next week, yeah, it’s the Open Championship. That means a lot to me.
‘But you’ve got to celebrate the good times because it doesn’t happen a lot and this is one I said I wanted.

‘I’m going to celebrate hard and I’ll pitch up when I tee the ball on Thursday, whatever time I tee off, I’ll try to win the championship. There might be some alcohol still in the system, but I will try my best...’
MacIntyre produced a stunning finish and was mobbed by family and friends as he headed off the 18th green after holing that huge putt.
He admitted lady luck smiled on him on the 16th after he was granted relief from a sprinkler head that had been interfering with his stance.
‘It was just a lucky break,’ added MacIntyre, who was first Scot to win the title since Colin Montgomerie in 1999. ‘You use the rules to get advantage. You stand on a sprinkler, you’re due relief. That was just the one kiss I needed.’
MacIntyre broke his duck on the PGA Tour last month by winning the Canadian Open, but insists this triumph on home soil topped anything previously in his career.

He also paid tribute to his family, who have supported him through thick and thin as well as fostering other kids at their home in Oban.
‘Winning in Canada was really emotional because obviously it was my first PGA Tour win. My dad was on the bag as caddie. I never thought it would happen.
‘Last year was heartbreaking [when he was pipped by Rory McIlroy in the Scottish Open]. But this year means everything.
‘It was incredible to have my whole family and friends there. It’s a lifetime dream.
‘I had a tear in my eye before I hit the putt on 18. I got Mike (his caddie) to go and get my water to try and reset.
‘But I was getting emotional before that. I started to read the putt and I was, like, you can still do the job here.’
