Omnicell Inc., a Fort Worth-based healthcare tech company that offers autonomous medication management, has appointed Chief Operating Officer Nnamdi Njoku as the company’s president.

Njoku will retain his role as COO, while Randall Lipps will continue to serve as CEO and chairman, focusing on strategic collaborations and the long-term evolution of Omnicell’s portfolio.

In his newly combined roles, Njoku will lead Omnicell’s long-term growth strategy and innovation plans, the company said. This includes scaling global operations and working to ensure seamless operational execution and excellence across product, innovation and customer experience. He will also continue to advance pivotal business initiatives including the launch of the Omnicell Titan XT automated dispensing system and the expansion of the cloud-native OmniSphere platform.

“Since joining Omnicell in 2024, Nnamdi has made a significant strategic impact on the company, working to strengthen our operational foundation, shape our strategic direction and organizational design, and build strong relationships with our customers and the investment community,” Lipps said in a statement. “Nnamdi is a proven leader who brings clarity, discipline and precision to our efforts to scale our business and accelerate momentum for our strategy.”

He added that the appointment represents a logical next step in the company’s leadership structure, allowing Lipps “to be laser-focused on strategic customer and industry relationships, the evolution of our solution offerings, and our long-term vision.”

Expertise in operational growth

Before joining Omnicell, Njoku spent more than 18 years in various executive leadership roles at Medtronic plc, including serving as senior vice president and president of the Neuromodulation Operating Unit. This approximately $2 billion business uses neuromodulation to treat conditions such as pain and movement disorders. Previously, Njoku held operational roles of increasing responsibility at Zimmer Biomet Holdings Inc., UnitedHealth Group and Deloitte Consulting.

Njoku is a fellow of the fourth class of Aspen Institute’s Health Innovators Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
