Former Georgia representative Marjorie Taylor Greene's journalist fiancé, Brian Glenn, is also quitting Washington. 

Glenn is departing his job as White House correspondent for Real America's Voice and is headed to greener pastures - he has already relocated to Georgia - and a much more relaxed schedule. 

That also includes wedding planning, he revealed to the Daily Mail. 

'I just want to slow everything down and just kind of put my roots in Georgia,' he said in a phone interview on Thursday. 'We're in the process of planning our wedding. Date to be determined,' he added.

Greene abruptly announced her departure from Congress in late November, saying she would give up her seat in early January, after becoming disillusioned with President Donald Trump over the Epstein files, among other issues. 

Glenn said the decision dawned on him just as quickly. 

'I woke up on a Sunday morning, early, I got in my recliner, got my coffee and I was just looking out the window. I have a lot of clarity early in the morning,' he explained. 

MTG came downstairs and sat next to him and asked what he was doing.

'I said, "Well, I'm just thinking." And she's like, "Thinking about what?" I'm like, "I'm gonna resign." And she was like, "From work?" I'm like, "Yep,"' Glenn described. 

When Greene asked her husband-to-be about his timeline, Glenn said he responded, 'today.' 

Glenn's last day on the job is Friday. 

While Greene's time in Washington was contentious - and she remains on the President's bad side - the perennially upbeat Glenn is departing with praise from his former colleagues and friends in the White House press corps. 

'Brian Glenn represents the fighting spirit of the WarRoom and Real America's Voice - he has the heart of a lion,' said Steve Bannon, Trump's former White House strategist, whose WarRoom program is carried on the conservative network. 

Eric Bolling, another prominent talking head on Real America's Voice, called Glenn 'tenacious' and 'sharp' in a release provided to the Daily Mail by the network announcing Glenn's exit.  

While Trump likes to lampoon the White House press corps as 'fake news,' Glenn said he's loved working alongside the 'best in the world.' 

'If there's one thing I'm really, really gonna miss, it is the camaraderie amongst all of us here, because the White House press pool is truly a family,' Glenn said. 

'And I just honestly have an incredible amount of respect for the men and women who work here at the White House - the camera, all production, talent - I really do - writers, photographers, stills, video, everything,' he added. 

Glenn has been working in radio and television for 37 years, though he turned to political reporting more recently. 

'In terms of getting out of politics altogether, you know, I am taking a step back right now from all that. I don't know what the future holds as far as what I'm going to do for a living, or what I want to talk about,' he said. 

'But right now it's just a healthy time for me to physically get out of this business, slow down life a little bit and focus on myself,' he added.
