A homeowner is furious after his neighbour demanded he give up part of his driveway so she can build a swimming pool on it - sparking a property dispute that has left him seeking advice online

A man has been left furious after his 'entitled' neighbour demanded he hand over part of his driveway so she could construct a pool on it. He revealed how he has had virtually no interaction with his next door neighbour throughout the seven years he's lived there - yet she recently approached him with a 'ridiculous' request.

Turning to Reddit, he said: "My house has a very long driveway. The driveway leads up a hill to my house at the top. The bottom quarter of the driveway is shared by my two neighbours. They have to drive up it to get into their garages. My side yard over looks one neighbour's backyard while my backyard overlooks the other's backyard. My pool is in my backyard."

Despite having given him "dirty looks" for years, she recently approached him to insist he do her a 'favour'. He added: "Basically, she wants me to give her my driveway so she can build an in-ground pool for her kids."

He is far from happy about the proposal, however. He continued: "Her kids are a nightmare and she has never controlled them. She just lets them run around and do whatever they want all day.

"I still don't fully understand why she needs the rights to my driveway to do that, but she did not like being told no."

Refusing to let her ruin his day, he headed out with his wife and children, putting his 'entitled' neighbour out of his mind for a few hours.

Yet upon returning home, he discovered she had entirely blocked his driveway with traffic cones. He added: "I moved them over to block her garage and texted her to let her know."

In response, she unleashed a furious series of text messages, bluntly warning him that he would not stand in the way of her plans.

He said: "She says that she is going to build her pool with or without my signature and that I should sign. In the end, she says to do the right thing, and calls me a b****."

Left baffled by the ordeal, he turned to social media to vent his frustrations and seek advice on how best to handle the situation going forward.

Responding to his post, one user said: "What the actual F man. Going to take your driveway and your house? Where do people get this sense of entitlement?

"I would get the property lines marked and build a brick wall. Make sure to have a mural of a pool painted on the outside so she can see what it would have looked like."

Another user added: "Man, if you don't follow up with an update once this all crashes and burns on her, then I'm going to come steal your driveway."

A third user said: "I would check with whatever council or department is in charge of this kind of stuff.

"I wouldn't put it past her to forge your signature to get what she wants for her precious angels. This kind of person doesn't think rules apply to them and think they won't get caught."
