The sister of Saturday Night Live writer Jimmy Fowlie has been reported missing in Los Angeles, according to a police alert shared by the comedy writer on social media.

Fowlie, 40 -  who joined SNL's writing staff in 2022 and co-wrote the viral 'Domingo' sketch -  posted an official missing persons bulletin issued by the Los Angeles Police Department on Monday, December 22.

The LAPD notice includes two photographs of his sister, identified as Christina Lynn Downer, 38, and notes that she was last seen in the Los Angeles area.

'My sister has been missing and we are worried that she isn’t safe,' Fowlie wrote on Instagram.

He also clarified that she may be using more than one last name. 

'Her married name is Downer but she may go by Christina Fowlie,' he added, while urging followers to help circulate the alert.

In the caption of the post, Fowlie appealed for anyone with information to contact authorities, writing: 'Please share this so that if anyone has seen her, they can give any information to the police. The phone number is 213 996 1800 and her case number is 25237639. she was last seen in LA. thank you.'

Police echoed the family’s concerns in the missing persons report, stating, 'Christina's family and friends are concerned for her safety.'

The LAPD and a representative for Fowlie did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Daily Mail.

Fowlie’s work extends beyond Saturday Night Live, with credits including Netflix’s A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter. 

He has also starred in and written projects such as the comedy web series Go-Go Boy Interrupted and HBO Max’s The Other Two.

The development comes just days after Saturday Night Live cast member Bowen Yang — who worked alongside Fowlie — made his exit following last Saturday’s episode hosted by Ariana Grande.

Reflecting on his time at the long-running NBC sketch show, Yang shared an emotional farewell message, writing: 'I loved working at SNL, and most of all I loved the people.'

'I was there at a time when many things in the world started to seem futile, but working at 30 Rock taught me the value in showing up anyway when people make it worthwhile,' he continued, adding, 'I’m grateful for every minute of my time there.'

Yang first joined SNL as a writer in 2018 before being promoted to on-air cast member for Season 45. 

By Season 47, he had earned repertory status and went on to become one of the show’s most recognizable performers over the course of seven seasons.

The 35-year-old comedian’s departure was the latest shake-up for the NBC series, which faced what insiders described as a chaotic 'bloodbath' of exits ahead of the 2025 season.

His exit follows a major post–Season 50 turnover that saw Ego Nwodim, Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker and Emil Wakim all depart the cast.

Yang also joins a short list of notable midseason departures, following Cecily Strong’s surprise December 2022 exit during Season 48. 

Molly Shannon, Dana Carvey and Eddie Murphy have also exited the show midseason.
