Danon used his address to accuse the United Nations and international bodies of repeatedly echoing unverified Hamas claims against Israel, only for the truth to emerge later without apology or correction.

“Israel is condemned again and again and again,” Danon told the council. “A claim is made against Israel. The UN repeats it and then the world condemns it. Then when the truth comes out — it takes time, sometimes weeks, months, years — no apology, no correction, no retraction. They move on. We will not move on.”
Danon displayed photos of individuals presented as members of the press killed in Gaza, then flipped them to reveal their documented roles as Hamas or other terror group operatives. He specifically addressed a claim made by New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.
“Mr. Mamdani stood before a crowd… He said Israel killed an Al Jazeera journalist, Ahmed Wishah,” Danon said. “Mr. Mamdani, we have the video, we have the evidence. This is Ahmed Wishah, the one that you condemned us for eliminating,” he added, showing an image of Wishah wearing a jihadist headband and holding a rifle. “A Hamas terrorist, a sniper in Hamas’s military wing.”
Danon described what he called a systematic propaganda machine: Hamas issues a claim, which is then amplified by NGOs, UN rapporteurs and briefers, followed by official UN reports, global media coverage and international condemnation — all before facts are verified.
“This is the machine,” he said. “Hamas makes a claim, the NGO ecosystem, rapporteurs, briefers, all repeat the lies. Then a UN report rubberstamps it, the world’s media broadcasts it, and Israel is condemned before the facts are even checked.”
The remarks come amid ongoing scrutiny of casualty reporting from Gaza, where terror groups have increasingly acknowledged that some of those listed as civilian journalists or aid workers were active members of Hamas’s military wing or other Palestinian terror organizations. The countdown is on.
