Renee Zellweger traded the glitz and glamor of the Emmy awards on Sunday for something a little more down to earth. 

Zellweger's movie, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, was nominated for Outstanding Television Movie, but lost to Rebel Ridge, starring Aaron Pierre, Don Johnson and AnnaSophia Robb. 

The actress, 56, cheered on her boyfriend Ant Anstead, 46, at his soccer game in Orange County, CA, even though the couple are not currently living together due to the TV host's financial problems. 

The Oscar winner kept her look lowkey, showing up for the match wearing a long sleeve white T-shirt over a pair of khaki green hiking pants.

Her long blonde hair was brushed straight and she protected her fair skin from the sun's harsh rays with a billed denim cap with 'London' written on it. 

While Anstead was busy on the pitch, the Bridget Jones franchise star could be seen keeping his son, Hudson, six, occupied by kicking their own ball around. 

Hudson has been playing soccer for on his own team and showed off his skills in play against Zellweger, who seemed to hold her own against the boy.  

Anstead shares the tyke with ex-wife Christina Haack, 42.  

The kindergarten student looked adorable in a purple T-shirt, denim shorts and sneakers. 

As he stepped on the pitch, Anstead looked dapper in a red, white and black jersey with black shorts.

He wore red and white knee high socks and black and white sneakers and worked up quite a sweat running back and forth across the field.  

Play on the field must have been intense. Zellweger was seen tending to a scrape on the For the Love of Cars star's arm after he fell on the pitch. 

Some scrapes on his knees were also noticeable.  

The actress was later seen watching the game from the sidelines and sitting with Anstead on a bench during half-time. 

Anstead play semi-professional football in the UK and when he moved to the US became a member of a semi-professional soccer team. affiliated with  Southampton FC. 

Zellweger was seen giving her fella, as she has referred to him in the past, a congratulatory peck on the lips for a game well played. 

After that, Anstead removed his soaking wet shirt, displaying his flat abs.

Zellweger can currently be seen in Only Murders in the Building, currently streaming on Hulu. 

 She stars as eccentric millionaire Camilla White in the crime dramady starring Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short. 

In an interview with Hello!,  Anstead opened up about his love for the Judy star. 

'One of the many, many things that attracts me to Ren is that she's a hands-on car girl,' he told the publication. 

The pair met when Zellweger was a guest on Anstead's previous show, Celebrity IOU Joyride. 

'It’s really cool that we met on a car show. She welded – I mean, how cool is that?' he asked.

He is currently hosting season two of Born Mechanic in the UK in which he will  restore and sell classic cars in order to renovate a 500 year-old farmhouse he bought for his parents. 

He revealed the Cold Mountain actress has had a hand in that. 

'She's been a big influence on that; she's very, very good at designing,' he said of the Chicago star, 'So, I'm obviously going to take advice from the person who's way better at houses than I am.'

'I am constantly being advised, because she's the greatest human I've ever met,' he said.
