Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos skipped the red carpet while attending the Met Gala he allegedly paid $10 million to co-chair.

He was pictured inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art with his wife's sister, Elena Sanchez Blair.

Meanwhile, Lauren Sanchez mocked over her 'embarrassing' dancing as she hit the red carpet solo.

Fashion fans slammed Jeff Bezos for sponsoring this year's Met Gala which they say was 'gauche' and a 'billionaire's ball.'

Bezos reportedly paid $10 million in exchange for being named honorary co-chair of the event with his wife, Lauren Sanchez.

Several other billionaires were in attendance, including the Soros siblings, Mark Zuckerberg , Walmart heir S. Robson Walton and Mike Bloomberg.

Though that worry proved to be unfounded - it was a bevy of international celebrity as usual - the injection of Amazon into the $100,000-a-ticket night elicited a further firestorm that has ensured the couple have felt the full headwinds of opposition - even down to the protests they encountered when attending Wintour's pre gala bash on Saturday night.
