On a hot summer’s night in Madison Square Garden, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce married in front of 1000 wedding guests and, reportedly, there were lots of tears.

There is lots to cry about at weddings, from sentimental vows to your wedding photos getting leaked to the Daily Mail, but for the 36-year-old bride, one particular moment was more emotional than the rest. Per People, Swift and Kelce, also 36, both spent about 20 minutes reading their vows at the altar, at which point Swift was reportedly seen tearing up at her husband’s sweet words.

“Taylor looked tearful during a part in the vows where he promised to protect her forever,” an insider told the Daily Mail. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was reportedly “nervous,” but “kept it together” during his vows.

However, Swift wasn’t the only one crying. “It was actually [Kelce] that was more emotional,” a guest at the July 3 nuptials told NBC News. “You would think the bride would be the one crying more.”

Adam Sandler, who co-starred with Kelce in Happy Gilmore 2, officiated the ceremony, which occurred a week after Swift and Kelce allegedly legally married in a smaller ceremony in Tennessee. For the MSG ceremony, guests were given embroidered handkerchiefs stitched with a “TT” interlocking heart logo and a line from Swift’s 2014 hit “Blank Space,” a favorite of Kelce’s: “So it’s gonna be forever…”

While the bride and groom, who met in 2023, have yet to share official photos from their wedding, leaked photos allegedly taken inside MSG are giving fans plenty to talk about, including a hint that Swift and Kelce secretly got a dog. Other details about the bride’s wedding dress, which Christian Dior designer Jonathan Anderson designed, also hint that it was inspired by Elizabeth Taylor.

Guests at the wedding include Reese Witherspoon, Brad Pitt, Sacha Baron Cohen, Zadie Smith, Lena Dunham, Gigi Hadid, and Swift’s former best friend-turned-frenemy Karlie Kloss. Notable absences include Keleigh Teller and Blake Lively, who were also once best friends with the singer.
