My google-fu seems to have failed, looking for a 90 degree male to female Hozelock type connector, does such a beast exist?
or
and screw a 3/4 male quick release connector in
Another option is to make one out of a male and female coupling, not suggesting these just links I found.
These as the right angle
And something similar to the female from here
Or the latter and a 3/4 bsp plumbing elbow

I will probably end up cobbling something together, I was hoping there was an "off the shelf" solution.
No joy here ... I can find plenty of 90* but they are all Hozelock to "Not Hozelock"...

That's all I could find.
A 90 degree male to female Hozelock connector just makes no sense, since hose is flexible. What is it needed for?
Perhaps to let hose lay flush with a connection without strain?
and screw a 3/4 male to female adaptor into it.
There are lots of 90 deg which take a hose to quick release.

It's for a garden water toy for the pup, the hozelock male is mounted vertically on very flexible plastic so the weight of the hose bends the plastic.

I can see me using something like that with a short hose/whip to a Hozelock male.
only type that does is the 90 degree female to connect direct to your hose
if you use this type you can cap one end of it but it means 2 female connectors instead on your hose
Allows two hoses to be connected to a single tap. Independent water control valves for each outlet. Fits most standard garden taps.

That's tap to male, I'm looking for male to female

Remove the hose locking ring & grip & cut the hose barb off a female connector, & screw it into the tap connector.
Any space/size restraints? Any flow requirements?
As above, the Hozelock female to BSP and Hozelock male to BSP are your starting points.
Then if you use a brass BSP elbow, that is a three-component assembly.
The 90 degree tap-connector to Hozelock male plus Hozelck female to male BSP is a two-component assembly.
Choose the combination of BSP threads which makes it most compact. BSP elbows can be bought male-male, male-female and female-female. It is also possible to buy a long radius elbow if flow characteristics are important.
Can be done with two fittings , 3/4" bsp male/hoselock straight fitting and the elbow.

Is it possible to unto the hose lock connector from the toy and replace it with a 90 degree bsp fitting that you can then refit the hose lick connector to.
Edit. Bob beat me to it with an actual right angle hoselock
