The Project concerns the first stage of the comprehensive redevelopment of Fira de Barcelona's Montjuïc site, including the construction of a new multifunctional pavilion, the rehabilitation of the historic Palau d'Alfons XIII into a congress facility, and associated urbanisation works, notably the transformation of Avinguda Reina Maria Cristina into a major pedestrian public space. The aim is to to renovate and modernise the existing Fira de Barcelona facilities at the Montjuïc site in order to extend their useful life, improve functionality and accessibility, and enhance their integration within the surrounding urban environment. The investment seeks to address technical obsolescence and capacity constraints, improve energy efficiency and environmental performance in line with EU requirements, and maintain the venue's attractiveness and competitiveness for national and international events. In parallel, the Project supports better integration of the venue within the surrounding urban fabric through improvements to public space and connectivity.
