installing softimage 2015 on a shared directory (linux)

hello everyone.
I'm trying to install Softimage 2015 on a shared directory.
local install works fine (/usr/softimage/...) but when I copy everything to /shared/softimage I get a core dumped.
I was wondering if softimage 2015 uses the thin client mechanism (as in maya) or any hints to do this kind of install.
