Georgia Moffitt is a pool shark--at 99 years old!

A decade ago, she moved to Glenaire Retirement Community in Cary which had a pool table. Georgia was intrigued, picked up a pool cue and started aiming--and sinking. The stripes and solids she struck kept finding corner pockets. Georgia didn't realize she had a hidden talent. Actually, she has more than one. She also paints.

Georgia could have studied art in New York after graduating from college but turned down the opportunity, which remains one of her lasting regrets. Although she still paints, providing another relaxing pastime.

She grew up in Lincolnton, just west or Charlotte, and was married for almost 60 years. She was her husband's caretaker at the end of his life. 

Georgia's turns 100 in April but doesn't feel her age. She usually beats any men who challenge her to a game of pool but doesn't much care if she wins or loses. Georgia just loves to play. And with the energy she has at 99, she almost never finds herself behind the eight ball. If she does, she sinks that too!
