Iran war and U.S. line

The U.S. administration’s claim that the war on Iran has already ended is one that would perhaps allow the White House to circumvent the requirement of Congressional approval under the War Powers Resolution, which constrains the President’s military powers.

Obviously, such a process would have raised serious questions about the reckless and dangerous misadventure that the U.S. began on February 28. It is important that nations come together to persuade all three — the U.S., Iran, and Israel — to eschew the path of violence. Deeply regrettable in all this is the UN’s virtual absence.

Vaping incident

The recent incident of vaping during the IPL 2026 season is alarming, and the BCCI’s response of imposing a mere fine is inadequate. The IPL commands a vast audience, including impressionable youth, and an incident such as this risks normalising harmful behaviour. Accountability must go beyond token punishment to uphold discipline and responsibility.
