It won’t smell like napalm, but it is information apocalypse now.

Artificial intelligence-generated content is flooding social feeds and its getting increasingly hard to determine what is real versus what is fake.

Aviv Ovadya, founder and CEO of the AI and Democracy Foundation, has been warning of this apocalypse for a decade now. Prior to the 2016 election, Ovadya had warned of AI content the information overload it would have on the ecosystem.

A decade later, social feeds are clogged by “AI slop” blurring the line between real and AI. “Marketplace Tech” host Meghan McCarty Carino spoke with Ovadya about how our information ecosystem is handling this transition and how consumers need to be protected.
