Calvin Harris has revealed his disgusting jet lag cure that left an air hostess in shock during a recent flight. 

The jet setting DJ, 40, admitted he knocks back several raw eggs to help his body clock adjust to a new time zone. 

Calvin, who eats a primal diet to help him feel energised, explained that he gets them through airport security without a hitch. 

He told Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2: 'I was on a British Airways flight just a few weeks ago and the air hostess told me she had never seen anybody crack eggs and pour them into their mouth at their seat before.

'But that was me — that’s what I do. I had six. I like to get rid of the whites so I just do the raw yolk. I find it gets rid of jet lag.' 

When asked if he was joking, Calvin continued: 'I just stick them in my bag. I’m surprised they get through security because for me, that’s liquid. But it’s never been flagged!' 

The DJ has been known to follow bizarre diets, gong from a ‘fruitarian raw vegan thing’ to a 'primal diet'. 

In 2020, he told Zane Lowe on Apple Music: 'You know, I lost the f*** you juice for a couple years. I did lose it.

'I don't know how I got it back, I think it was when I started eating bone marrow again and liver. 

'And it just all came rushing back as soon as I had those bones and got those amazing fats in my body. And then I felt energised enough through my primal diet.'

The Ready For The Weekend hitmaker, who is the highest paid DJ in the world, has invested in his personal appearance over the years. 

Back in 2007, as he released his debut album I Created Disco, Dumfries-born Calvin - whose real name is Adam Wiles - was a pale and scruffy brunette who favoured a battered leather jacket, hooded tops and loose jeans.

But roll on a few years and the award-winning producer, who is signed to music company Three Six Zero, ditched the hair dye, hired a stylist and started working out. A lot. 

Living in LA seems to have helped: 'The food is fantastic over here. You can eat healthily, there’s a lot more healthy options than in the UK — that’s a fact,' he told The Sun when he moved there in 2012.

His daily routine now involves eggs for breakfast ('egg-white omelette with smoked salmon and spinach for protein, fibre and omega-3') and a trip to the gym before hitting the studio.

Calvin has also learned to love his height. In the past the lofty chart-topper has admitted to being bullied at school for being different: 'It was hard being the tallest person in class.'

He continued: 'Especially when you are a teenager. You want to keep your head down. I did anyway. When you are a spotty awkward teenager, you don't want people to look at you. It's a self-conscious thing. 

'Everyone looks at you because you are extra gangly. It's only in the last five years that I have come to terms with the fact that I am a big tall b******.' he said in 2009.

But the biggest difference to Calvin's look has been embracing his natural blond hair in 2012. 

'I just don’t have time for that s*** any more in my life, and as I approach 30, I don’t think it’s a good thing for a man to be doing,' he said at the time.

'It’s just part of growing up, coming to terms with myself as a human being and not doing that s*** any more. I prefer my more natural look. If anyone doesn’t, they’d be preferring something that isn’t actually real — so it’s like you’re preferring an imaginary idea of someone who doesn’t exist. You either like it or you don’t like it.'

Meanwhile, Calvin's wife Vick Hope revealed how she previously rebuffed his advances. 

Vick said Calvin first made a move on her when he was enjoying his first flush of success with his hit Acceptable in the 80s back in 2007 - but she turned him down at the time. 

Back on her Capital radio show before her romance with Calvin, Ronan Kemp said: 'Calvin Harris has one of the best glow-ups I've ever seen. Oh my word, a photo of Calvin Harris 10 years ago to now.'

She said: 'Why are you asking me this, you know how I feel about this. I was shallow. I was 19, and I said 'no'. I went off with one of either Scouting For Girls or The Wombats. I don't know which. 

'They were there. I thought they were going to be bigger. But no it turns out Calvin Harris was going to turn into an Adonis.'
