Stories from the region suggest that something has been attacking poultry and nobody is quite sure what it is.

Could the Chupacabra be back to its old tricks? According to researchers who have been working with controversial UFO investigator Jaime Maussan, something very strange has been going on.

The story goes that a creature - described as a humanoid predator - has been seen along the border between the US and Mexico where it has been killing chickens, rabbits and other animals.

Maussan, who has made several spectacular (and unverified) claims about UFOs and aliens over the years, maintains that he has collected together several witness testimonies indicating that the creature, whatever it is, could be agile, intelligent and humanoid in shape.

He now thinks that it could be an entity from another dimension.

"Why did it appear there? It's a mystery," he said. "Are they interdimensional beings? Are they beings who came with other beings? Did they come in ships?"

A photograph of the alleged creature that has been doing the rounds recently clearly shows what looks like some sort of ordinary lizard - definitely nothing particularly unusual.

"[The creature] is a predator. I'm not saying it's extraterrestrial, but it is something scary," Maussan told NetNoticias.

"Its intelligence and agility are truly frightening. I don't believe it attacks people, but it is affecting the interests of those who live in the so-called Juarez Valley."

Whether there really is anything of significance to these reports remains unclear, but given the controversy surrounding some of Maussan's other claims, it will take some truly stunning evidence for scientists to accept that an 'inter-dimensional' creature is lurking in the region.
