DUNMORE, Pa. – All 18 graduates from the class of 2026 of the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing at Penn State Scranton have passed their NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination), a standardized test that all nursing graduates must take to get their nursing license.
The rigorous exam is administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing and uses questions and real-world case studies to measure a nurse’s ability to think critically and implement clinical judgement. It ensures nursing graduates are ready to provide safe, effective care.
“The nursing department is proud of our class of 2026. Both faculty and student dedication toward NCLEX preparation has yielded positive results,” said Nursing Program Coordinator Justina Malinek, assistant teaching professor of nursing and director for undergraduate nursing education at Penn State Scranton. “Welcome to the nursing profession!”
Penn State Scranton offers the bachelor of science in nursing, which helps students prepare for career settings in hospitals, private practice, long-term care, clinics and healthcare/community agencies.
Students interested in the nursing program can expect to gain valuable skills in the state-of-the-art facilities at the Scranton campus. Students also can expect comprehensive NCLEX exam preparation, helping to ensure that they are fully ready to pass the exam.
