For those who missed out on lululemon X GANNI's Scandi-cool fashion collaboration the first time, now is your chance. Yep, the 80s-inspired collection has just been restocked — including that viral leopard jacket, guaranteed to sell out for a second time.

But if the coming together of these fashion forces teaches us anything, it's that maximalism really is back. Some have labelled our return to bold colour and print a recession indicator; others a protest against the ‘clean girl’ aesthetic. But personally, I think it's a power move by the Copenhagen fashion house to elevate our activewear.

Because while GANNI might be a leader when it comes to statement and somewhat kitsch dressing, every brand collaboration to date (most recently, that includes GANNI X Hunter, Barbour X GANNI and GANNI X New Balance) has resold us on performance-based fashion staples. Never before have I lusted after wellies and a tartan-printed practical jacket with a hood? Now a well-loved member of my outerwear repertoire.

But what to expect from the brand's latest athletic launch in partnership with lululemon (aside from a second sell-out)? Restocked this morning, the 22-piece collection includes women's activewear, post-workout sliders and accessories, many finished in the brand's iconic leopard print or with nostalgia-including frills. Think OG GANNI, but for the gym.

The pieces combine lululemon’s technical innovation with GANNI’s distinctive Copenhagen spirit — think fashion with form. Take the gym leggings, crafted from lululemon's trademark Nulu and Softstreme fabrics, meaning they'll score high in terms of comfort, breathability and stretch, as well as style.

Signature GANNI details are evident throughout the collection, too, including ruffle trims, bold colour pairings, and iconic leopard print. Firmly at the top of my wishlist, though, is the animal print Define Jacket — the running jacket I've worn for the entirety of my half-marathon training. This one should see me through weekend brunches and WFH Fridays, too.

With pops of purple and dance-inspired silhouettes (think: leg warmers, boleros, and matching headbands), the 80s influence of the collection is clear. “80s dance movies have been part of my life since I was a child, so they felt like such a natural starting point,” said Ditte Reffstrup, Creative Director at GANNI.

“I’ve always been drawn to the energy, determination and sense of freedom in those films, and the way dance becomes such a powerful form of self-expression. For the collection, we brought that 80s dance energy into the colours and details, then mixed it with GANNI signatures like leopard and frills, and lululemon’s world of movement.”

Jonathan Cheung, Global Creative Director at lululemon, adds: "It all comes from movement. When we first started talking about the collection, Ditte said her movement practice was dance, and everything flowed from there.
