The success of Gap x Victoria Beckham's inaugural collection this spring needs to be studied, but in the meantime, Collection Two is here to celebrate AW26 – and I have a feeling it's about to blow it out of the park.

Designer collabs are two-a-penny these days – just last week we saw adidas x ASOS, GANNI x lululemon, DAISY x Free People, Timberland x Jacquemus, and Barbour x APC, while ELIE SAAB H&M dropped yesterday – but have any of them caused the internet to break (so to speak) quite like VB x Gap did earlier this year? Debatable. As the second iteration of Gap X VB drops, prepare for pandemonium amongst the fashion set as you make your way to the checkout.

The basics: Gap x Victoria Beckham drop two launches today (October 23rd) at 2pm BST. It's online at gap.co.uk and in select stores globally, from North America and the UK to Japan and the Middle East, and if I can offer one piece of advice, it's this: do not bide your time. This collection is practically guaranteed to be a sellout.

The item that'll go first? The Latch Collar Denim Jacket.

My colleagues Sophie Cockett and Olive Pometsey both agree, so much so that we all took it for a spin around London pairing it with the Baggy Drawstring Jeans or High Rise Straight Jeans. The verdict? It's sturdy, has great shape thanks to the curved hem, and offers a modern take on an absolute wardrobe classic. We expected nothing less.

What else to expect? Like last time, the iconic American silhouettes of the ’80s and ’90s that Gap is renowned for are at the root of the line, while Beckham's signature aesthetic (as showcased on her most recent runway) – minimalism-meets-modernism – overlaps. Pieces feel elegant while being rooted in reality: they're comfortable and versatile beyond measure.

Complete of 37 pieces, the line-up sees refined knitwear in cashmere, merino wool and, of course, Gap's signature CashSoft materials – as well as statement outerwear, considered tailoring, and fresh expressions of denim (a huge sellout last time).

“We wanted to build on the design language we established in the first collection with a stronger focus on texture, proportion and layering, all while keeping the ease and versatility that feels so intrinsic to Gap,” says Victoria Beckham.

Wearable silhouettes brought to life by thoughtful details are what make collaborations like this so popular with the masses, whether you're a fan of either name or not. The other tick box? Accessible prices. Luckily, this launch will range from £25 to £275, so those looking for a quick treat as well as those wanting to invest in something long-term are sure to find something.

And a quick note on sizing. I'm 6ft and a size UK 12 and found both medium and large to be my perfect fit. I tried the jeans on in a W30 and found they were slightly too tight on my hips (I actually couldn't get the straight-leg pair in the same size on, so there's definitely some discrepancies). They were also too short for me sadly, so tall girls be warned. Outside of that, it's a pretty inclusive range – just like the previous Gap x Victoria Beckham collab.

With a colour palette inspired by the art world, drawing from the works in Doris and Donald Fisher's collection at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, you'll see charcoal, forest green, warm brown and vampy red alongside staple VB neutrals.
