NEW YORK — The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox will get prime-time exposure in Major League Baseball’s Wild Card Series.

All three potential games in the AL first-round matchup that begins Tuesday will start at about 8 p.m. EDT and be televised by NBC, MLB said Sunday.

Atlanta’s series hosting Philadelphia will have 2 p.m. games televised on NBC, and the Chicago White Sox series at Houston will start at 5 p.m., with games televised by NBCSN.

The Chicago Cubs’ series at San Diego will have 10 p.m. games and be televised by NBCSN.

All games also will be streamed on Peacock in the first year of a contract with MLB that replaced ESPN as the Wild Card Series network.

Games will be televised with Spanish-language commentary on Universo and Univision.

WILLSON CONTRERAS returned to the Red Sox lineup for Sunday’s regular-season finale after missing eight games because of an injured right hand.

Contreras, who entered leading the Red Sox with with 27 homers and 81 RBI, batted third as the designated hitter against the Chicago Cubs in a game moved from Fenway Park to Tropicana Field because of rain.

Contreras was hit on his right hand by a Jakob Junis pitch on Sept. 17.

He entered Sunday second in the AL with a .387 on-base percentage.

Contreras is Boston’s regular first baseman.

CAM SCHLITTLER will start Game 1 for the Yankees and be followed in the rotation by Max Fried and Gerrit Cole in the best-of-three matchup.

New York made the announcement Sunday, the last day of the regular season.

Schlittler struck out 12 over eight innings in the Yankees’ 4-0 win over the Red Sox in last year’s wild-card series. He allowed five hits, all singles, and walked none. Schlittler threw 11 pitches 100 mph or faster, including six in the first inning.

Schlittler was 14-6 with an AL-best 1.95 ERA and 239 strikeouts this year, the first full season for the 25-year-old right-hander. Schlittler also allowed one earned run or fewer in his final nine starts, matching Whitey Ford in 1963 for the longest streak in Yankees history.

A native of Walpole Massachusetts, Schlittler went 2-1 with an 0.74 ERA in four starts against Boston this year. He struck out 27 in 24 1/3 innings and held hitters to a .174 average.

If the Yankees advance to a best-of-five AL Division Series against Tampa Bay, Schlittler would be lined up to start Game 2 and, if necessary, Game 5.
