At least 4,263, or nearly a third of the objections, seeking the deletion of names from Delhi’s electoral roll via Form 7, are missing from the mandatory disclosures made during the first 45 days of the ongoing claims and objections phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in New Delhi, The Hindu has found.

According to the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) Manual on Electoral Roll 2023, an objection through Form 7 cannot be acted upon without its publication in the public domain. The manual specifies that Electoral Registration Officers (ERO) can take action on any objection only after it had been published in Form 10 listings on its website for period of seven days.
