Ladakh has announced Panchayat elections for November 21, the first since the Union Territory was carved out of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state in 2019. Meanwhile, the administration has increased the number of Autonomous Hill Development Council constituencies from 52 to 100, paving the way for separate councils in all eight districts, including the newly created Sankoo district.
