These are golden years for CD Projekt RED. After a difficult 2020, the company behind games like The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 has made a strong comeback and is now looking toward an even brighter future. One of the projects shaping that future is Project Hadar, a completely new IP from the Polish developer.
We’re talking about a new IP, so something completely new—and for CDPR, it’s a first in over a decade!—which we frankly can’t wait to discover.
In recent times, the Polish company has focused first on the development and release of Cyberpunk 2077, with the last few years dedicated to fixing the game, and then on the continuation of The Witcher saga, with The Witcher 4. Furthermore, in recent weeks, the definitive remastered edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released, bringing the game into a new technological era with updated graphics, new features, a revised UX, and a more stable frame rate.
CD Projekt RED’s Next Big Project Hadar Takes Another Step Forward as Gameplay Testing Begins— Shinobi602 (@shinobi602) October 15, 2026CD Projekt RED has finished the 'world vision' stage for its new IP "Project Hadar", prototypes and gameplay elements are currently being tested:

But let’s get back to Project Hadar, CDPR’s future IP. Apparently, as reported by insider @Shinobi602, we’ll have to wait a long time to see it. Despite this, the Polish developer has confirmed that it has completed the so-called “world vision” phase. It will then move on to a substantial testing phase, which will put some prototype versions of the game, as well as the gameplay itself, under the magnifying glass.
“This has been our biggest undertaking to date, taking us several years, but at this point we can say we have a coherent vision for this world and its key elements. The team has begun work on the game, although it’s not yet in pre-production,” explained co-CEO Michal Nowakowski.
Michal also explained that the team is currently working on small prototypes and testing different gameplay elements, as the game is still in the early stages of development. The game, announced in October 2022, represents the developer’s first entirely original intellectual property—both The Witcher and Cyberpunk were inspired by other mediums.
