Police believed it was a targeted incident, the release said.

In August 2026, the OPP charged two other Quebec residents in the case.

Michael Cloutier, 40, of Valleyfield, was charged with: conspiracy to commit an indictable offence; break and enter of a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence; disguise with intent; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; break and enter with intent to steal a firearm; committing a robbery to steal a firearm; unauthorized possession of a firearm; knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm; armed robbery; and possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

Cloutier remained in custody and was scheduled to appear in court in Cornwall on Oct. 27.

Also charged was Stephanie Pigeon, 34, of St-Jérôme: accessory after the fact to commit an indictable offence and obstructing justice.

Pigeon was released from custody following a bail hearing and was scheduled to appear in court at Cornwall on Nov. 17.

The investigation remains ongoing, led by the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry detachment, the OPOP said.
