MAINE STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 110
Christina Mitchell

Christina Mitchell, Democrat

What are your top three priorities?

Access to health options, affordable housing, and quality education across the state are foundational for a strong society and economy. Expand MaineCare; support workforce programs in healthcare fields, technology and clean energy; and increase affordable housing in Maine, including the islands. These priorities are interconnected and vital to much-needed workers. Maine people and businesses can thrive when all individuals and families find health, homes and educational opportunities here.

Why are you running?

To be a strong, healthy state we need to protect and strengthen the rights we have to pursue our chosen lives, education and jobs. Sponsoring and supporting laws and identifying ways to make our lives and businesses work better is my way to help Mainers. The controversial divisions and challenges to our freedoms can and must be confronted with facts and determination to succeed. I will continue to fight for ways to protect and strengthen our state.

Amy Leshure

Amy Leshure, Democrat

What are your top three priorities?

1) Responsible budgeting and the county’s long-term fiscal stability. 2) Building stronger partnerships with municipalities and the state to share services, reduce duplication and secure sustainable funding. I will aim to have county government delivering essential services efficiently and transparently. 3) Right-sizing the county jail by strengthening behavioral health, substance-use and public safety services.

Why are you running?

I am running because county government has a meaningful impact on our communities. I bring more than 20 years of financial and operational experience and a collaborative leadership style. I will use this experience to strengthen fiscal oversight, increase transparency and help Cumberland County work more effectively with municipalities to solve our regional challenges.

Robert Vail

Robert P. Vail, Independent

What are your top three priorities?

The expansion of county services to reduce local taxes. Ensure that training for first responders are standardized across the county. Include school departments with regionalization to offset rising costs.

Why are you running?

The challenges facing us today, whether housing, social issues, job creation, aging, childcare, lack of a workforce in our police, fire, rescue and public works departments need to have different approaches, and I believe I can contribute to that end.
