A total of 528 nominations were filed for Ward Member posts across the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) on Saturday, the second day of the nomination process for the Second General Elections–2026.

With this, the total number of nominations filed during the first two days rose to 594, according to a statement issued by the Returning Officers of the respective zones.

Gajuwaka recorded the highest number of nominations on Saturday, with 150 candidates filing their papers, followed by the South Zone with 107 nominations. The North Zone received 61 nominations, while 57 were filed in the West Zone, and 41 in the East Zone.

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) accounted for the highest number of nominations, with 190, followed by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) with 155 and the Jana Sena Party (JSP) with 108. Independent candidates filed 95 nominations.

Among the other parties, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) filed 17 nominations.

Meanwhile, seven nominations were received for the Mayor’s post at the office of the Returning Officer at the GVMC Head Office on Saturday. Karanam Keerthana Grace filed one nomination on behalf of the BSP, while Varudu Kalyani filed one nomination representing the YSRCP. Nammi Bhavani filed nominations on behalf of the Bharata Chaitanya Yuvajana Party.
