Taylor Swift fans were delighted as she revealed her upcoming new single Patient Zero on Tuesday, but some were disappointed with the song's cover art.

The singer, 36, shared an image of herself leaning against a concrete wall while clad in a high-neck sleeveless dress, and internet users were quick to call out what appeared to be a Photoshop fail.

The 'extra smooth' snapshot made it hard to distinguish a contour between her underarm and side, prompting even her most devoted followers to name the mishap.

'The Photoshop on Taylor Swift's "Patient Zero" cover is horrendous... girl, you're a billionaire, please get a professional photographer,' one person scoffed on X.

'I'm so sorry but why does the side of her look so poorly edited? It looks way over-airbrushed and almost AI,' another said. 'No shade, but they edited her armpit to HELL,' one X user pointed out before declaring, 'I love Taylor, by the way.'

The Daily Mail has reached out to a rep for Swift for comment.

There was also a social media user who listed, 'The FaceApp blur, the badly cropped picture, the tilted horizon... she just pissed me off so bad.'

One fan noted, 'I can edit you better for free on Canva,' after endearingly calling Swift 'mom' and lamenting, 'They Photoshopped your shoulder out of existence.'

Looking on the bright side, someone else said, 'The Photoshop is so horrendously bad, but god, Tay, you'll shine through forever and always.'

One fan claimed to be 'obsessed' with the new music announcement, but said she 'cannot get over the bad Photoshop occurring in this photo.'

Another one of the star's followers asked, 'Am I tripping or does this not look like Taylor Swift?' but reasoned, 'Maybe it's intentional.'

Someone accused Swift's black dress of appearing to have been Photoshopped onto her body.

The songstress left fans speculating she was about to drop photos from her July wedding to Travis Kelce when her website launched a mysterious two-hour countdown on Tuesday.

She also changed both her X and Instagram profiles to read, 'And, baby, that’s sh0w business f0r y0u,' along with a fiery heart emoji.

Then, at 2pm ET, Swift revealed the cover artwork for her new single, Patient Zero.

Its title appeared to be a reference to the star being described as 'patient zero' for emotional contagion in a 2024 LA Times article.

She captioned the post: 'I’ve been impatiently waiting to tell you that my brand new single “Patient Zero” will be out on September 25 (!!!!!!!!!!!!) and it’s available to pre-order now on my website for 24 hours.'

Fans are now able to preorder three different $3.99 versions of the track, including acoustic and piano singles.

The shoot led fans to speculate that Swift's single could be 'a sister album to [her previous project] The Life of A Showgirl and it’s the death of a showgirl.'

Ahead of the announcement, fans speculated the update was a 'plot twist,' and would be 'Taylor and Trav’s wedding photos behind the countdown.'

Others predicted Swift was set to release a deluxe version of her latest album, while many others said the three zeros signified angel numbers, signaling a 'new beginning' for the star.

Earlier this month, Swift announced she will attend the upcoming Country Music Awards for the first time in 10 years.

Swift's song I Knew It, I Knew You, from the Toy Story 5 soundtrack, is nominated for Single of the Year alongside two Ella Langley songs, as well as tracks by Lainey Wilson and Cody Johnson.

Her fans went wild following the news, with many predicting that the singer will soon release a re-recording of her first album, Debut.

Swift last showed up at the CMA in 2016, when she presented Garth Brooks with the award for Entertainer of the Year.

This year's event will take place on November 18 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, hosted by Lainey Wilson.
