Celebrate autumn at the Original Farmers Market during the annual Fall Festival, a free family-friendly tradition being held on Saturday, Oct. 17, and Sunday, Oct. 18. The festival includes equestrian showcases, a petting zoo, pumpkin patch, seasonal crafts, live music, local merchants and all-ages activities.

The Urban Saddles Equestrian Group will give demonstrations and meet with visitors. Founded in 2019, Urban Saddles supports inner-city youth and the Black and Native American communities. Gentle horses are available for petting and feeding. The organization provides education on horsemanship and the history of Black and Native American cowboys.

Also featured is a petting zoo with friendly farm animals; Mr. Jack O’Lantern’s Pumpkin Patch and Games; fall crafts, demos and photo ops; and live music spanning genres including Americana, roots rock, hillbilly, blues, western swing and rock ‘n’ roll.  Returning artists include Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys, Deke Dickerson & The Whippersnappers, The Storytellers and The Sidewynders. New to the lineup is Sugar in the Gourd, an all-female Americana band performing on the plaza stage.

The Fall Festival runs from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on Oct. 17, and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Oct. 18. The Original Farmers Market is located at 6333 W. Third St.
