Your name, home address and phone number are likely sitting on websites you’ve never heard of. Behind those listings are data brokers that collect and sell your personal information — to marketers, scammers and anyone else willing to pay.

Incogni’s free exposure scanner searches hundreds of these sites and reveals what personal information they publicly list about you. And it does it in less than a minute, with no account or credit card required.

Check your data exposure for free

If bad actors gain access to your personal data, it makes it far easier for them to rip you off. Same goes for aggressive marketers, who buy your info and then use it to target you for annoying (and seemingly endless) sales pitches. And don’t get us started about stalkers and other weirdos.

You might think that once your personal information finds its way online, there’s no putting the toothpaste back in the tube. But you’d be wrong. Data-scrubbing services like Incogni make purging your personal data from the internet easy.

The first step on the road to blissful internet anonymity is finding out just how bad the situation really is. Incogni’s free exposure scanner checks hundreds of data brokers and tells you where your personal information is publicly listed — and what details are exposed.

Simply enter your email in the box above. I ran this check myself, and I was pretty shocked at what I found.

What the results include

After you run Incogni’s free exposure scanner, you will see:

• Where your data appears: Incogni lists sites with potential matches for your personal information.
• Exposed details: Incogni shows what data is available online. That can include your name, phone numbers, home address, date of birth and, in some cases, email addresses and household members. (Not every listing contains every detail.)
• Risk ratings: The emailed report categorizes sites as low, medium or high risk and flags potentially exposed information such as age, family relationships and previous residences.

The scan is free, fast and doesn’t commit you to anything. It almost instantaneously provides clarity about your digital footprint.

Once you’ve seen it, Incogni can get it removed — automatically, repeatedly, without you having to do anything.
