Another UK travel company has collapsed after a turbulent year for firms operating in the holiday sector.

Global Travel Partners, which first launched in 2011 under the name BME Business Travel Ltd, has entered creditors’ voluntary liquidation.

The company, which operated in both the UK and US, served more than 100,000 customers over the years, arranging trips across Europe, North America, North Africa and the Middle East.

According to its website, the firm also booked more than 35,000 hotel rooms for customers.

Promoting its services, the company said: 'With our extensive network of partners and on-the-ground expertise, we offer a personalized touch that enhances your travel experience, no matter the destination. Local expertise, global reach.'

Insolvency firm Yerrill Murphy was appointed as liquidator on October 7, according to The Gazette.

The Daily Mail approached Global Travel Partners for comment.

It comes after a difficult year for travel agencies and just last month Barnes Worldwide Travel ceased trading on September 9.

The company first opened in 2007 as an independent travel agent based in Liverpool and offered trips to destinations across the globe including Turkey, Goa, Spain, Japan and America.

Earlier this year, Wayfairer Travel suspended its services and announced it would be closing its doors 'until further notice'.

The firm specialised in package holidays to a range of destinations, from Africa to Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

It offered trips including safari holidays, adventure-focused getaways and luxury alternatives.

Meanwhile Ski Yodl Ltd, founded in 2018, voluntarily entered liquidation in July. The Norwich-based company previously offered ski holiday packages to destinations such as the French Alps.

It comes after several other travel companies have gone bust this year, including Ski Yodl Ltd

After 15 years of operation, Travel Bespoke Ltd ceased trading as an Air Travel Organiser's Licence (ATOL) holder on May 29.

The company, which was previously based in Midhurst, specialised in ski and spa holidays, offering flights and package trips.

Gold Crest Holidays, based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, confirmed it stopped trading with immediate effect on January 23 and entered voluntary liquidation.

The family-owned coach tour operator specialised in trips to destinations like Disneyland Paris, European city breaks and major sporting events.

Asiara UK Ltd ceased trading as an ATOL holder on January 21 and all tours and flights with the company were cancelled as a result.

It comes after the brand, which ran tailor-made and small-group tours to countries including Thailand, China, India, Japan and Singapore, dissolved earlier in the month.

Meanwhile, Simply Florida Travel Ltd ceased trading as an ATOL holder on January 20 of this year.

Based in Glasgow, the company traded under the name Simply Florida Travel and also operated through its website www.simplyfloridatravel.com.
