The new recall adds vehicles that went it for a fix but were supplied the defective part that was part of the original problem

Now, the auto manufacturer is recalling another 4,804 vehicles in the U.S. for the exact same issue. (Note: this recall is not yet listed on the Transport Canada site, but we’ll update this post if that information becomes available for Canadian owners.) However, here’s where things get interesting: the new recall isn’t just an expansion of the previous one, but rather one issued because of a mistake made by the supplier that was supposed to remedy the problem.
In the recall documents provided to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), it details the same issue as before: “during the development process of the flat-tire-repair kit, pressure buildup was not accounted for if the nozzle wasn’t properly connected.” As such, there can be a build-up of pressure in the sealant bottle that can cause the bottle cap to detach, which is a potential risk of injury.
This time around, Honda claims that the supplier of the tire-sealant bottles mixed up the old, faulty bottles with the new ones meant to remedy the problem. Apparently, this second recall is for those who (unfortunately) received the defective bottles and still need the new one.
Similar to the previous recall, this new one includes the 2023 to 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid; 2025 and 2026 Honda CR-V Fuel Cell EV; and 2023 to 2026 Accord Hybrid. Once again, those affected by this issue will be notified by mail and advised to take their vehicle to a Honda dealership to have the tire repair kit nozzle replaced, for the second time.
