Colorado’s tax system isn’t working. Whether you’re living paycheck to paycheck or you’re a billionaire, you pay the same tax rate in Colorado.
It’s one of the biggest reasons we’re constantly struggling to pay for essential things like education and health care. But there’s an easy fix.
Amendment 87, this year’s graduated income tax measure, gives a tax break to 97% of Coloradans: everybody who makes less than $500,000 per year. If you make more than $500,000, you pay a little more. Not a lot more. But enough to really help make ends meet with less assistance than ever coming from Washington, D.C.
Don’t take our word for it. Click here to hear from a real-life Colorado millionaire who wants you to raise his taxes:
Amendment 87 is the right thing to do for Colorado. Living in this state we love is about more than a tax rate, and the wealthiest households really do have much more wealth proportionally now than they did even 20 years ago. There’s no better way to give back to the communities that have generated so much wealth for the richest among us than a tax break for the other 97% of us.
That’s why we’re counting on you to see through the distractions and support Amendment 87, the biggest game-changer for Colorado’s perpetual fiscal crisis in a generation. It’s not hard to do better. It’s just a decision we make together.
